Overview
This is joint degree programme with Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv (Ukraine).
Only students admitted to Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv can apply for this programme.
In the first and second semesters students study in Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv (Kyiv, Ukraine), in the third and fourth semester they continue their studies in Mykolas Romeris University (Vilnius, Lithuania). In the end of the fourth semester students return back to Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv where the final examination (state exam) is held.
Objective of a study programme is to prepare specialists of private law, who are able to efficiently participate in the activities of international, regional and national private business organizations and EU and national governmental institutions operating in the fields of private law and dispute resolution. Students shall gain in-depth knowledge of modern business and other private subject forms of conduct, methods and remedies for protection of infringed rights in particular fields of private law (contractual, proprietary, delictual and personal remedies), procedures of dispute resolution in international, regional and national levels and shall be able to apply gained knowledge and skills in Lithuania, Ukraine and other foreign countries.
The study programme is the first joint programme in Lithuania in the field of private law carried out in two high education institutions – Mykolas Romeris University (Lithuania) and Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv (Ukraine). The study programme will be performed in English language and it will give individuals the opportunity to gain a Master of Laws degree in two high education institutions.
Career opportunities
Degree holders will be able to work in the private sector (business companies), engage in high qualification professions (advocate, notary, bailiff, bankruptcy administrator), as well as in public sector (for example, in European institutions, international institutions, national courts, quasi-courts, other state and municipal administration entities, engaged in business administrative regulation, in international and national non-governmental organizations, etc.), as well as in academic and research institutions.
