Start your first year of study in Vilnius, where you will lay the foundation for your knowledge of European and international business law. You will cover the topics on international tax, banking, insolvency, company, labour, competition, industrial property laws at European and international levels, as well as international commercial litigation. You will also go through languages study of French – the common international legal language.  

Study at Université Savoie-Mont-Blanc in Chambéry, France. Continue your law studies in English, while deepening your knowledge on various topics of contract law, delve into issues of business law, economic integration of European Union, and so much more. You will continue your French language lessons as well. You will also have a chance at an internship in international law firms and companies. At the end of your Master thesis, you will have become a true, experienced master of law at an international level. 

To take full advantage of this program, you will be required to know English at B2 level. 

During 2 years in Europe, you will receive your double master’s degree in the field of law. After completing your degree, you will be able to work in the private and public sectors, in academic and research institutions, commercial litigation bodies and other organizations.

General competences and learning outcomes

  1. Personal and social abilities
  • Ability to plan the learning process independently and purposefully, to choose the direction of professional activities‘ development, to adapt to the changing work environment and to act in a multicultural business environment responsibly, honestly and transparently;
  • Ability to act as an independent expert and, using acquired knowledge of business law, to self-initiate, develop, manage and end transnational and European business, to asses and model business creation, development, management and end situations analytically;
  • Ability to generate new ideas in a multicultural business environment, to make social responsible and ethical decisions, to assess alternative solutions and their potential impact on the business environment.

Subject specific competences and learning outcomes

  1. Knowledge and its application
  • Ability to analyse and explain the transnational and European business environment characteristics, the forms of business organization, particularity of their legal regulation and procedures, peculiarities of dispute resolution, specific features of transnational and European regulation of labour relations, business contracts and other particular branches of business law;
  • Ability to critically analyse, interpret, compare and assess the legislation for transnational and European business legal relations, to provide creative suggestions for the improvement of this legislation in order to ameliorate the business environment.
  1. Research skills
  • Ability to analyse, synthesize and evaluate the data necessary for scientific research of business legal environment and innovation in this field, to integrate knowledge of business law, to apply scientific knowledge methodology, to clearly and unambiguously formulate logical conclusions based on business law knowledge, focusing on professional development and improvement and to convey these findings to both specialist and non-specialist audiences in native and foreign language.
  1. Special abilities
  • Ability to advise on issues related to establishment, management, performance and termination of activities of European and international company, to deal with a wide range of legal problems, including extremely complex, when there is incomplete or limited information, to provide suggestions that would enable the reduction of the rise of problems detected as well as interests alignment and satisfaction of the individual business participants;
  • Ability to draft, analyse and assess the European and international business contracts professionally;
  • Ability to provide representation and dispute resolution legal services in multicultural transnational and European business environment professionally both in a team and independently.
Study Organization

Full-time studies on Campus are organized on weekdays from 16:15 to 21:00. The first year of studies will be held at MRU (Vilnius), and the second year of studies at Savoie-Mont-Blanc university, Chambéry city, France. Up to 30 students will be admitted to the second year, who will have the opportunity to study at the University of Savoie-Mont-Blanc.

Admission Requirements

Required documents:

  • Bachelor degree or equivalent first university degree diploma in Law (3-year study duration minimum)
  • Academic transcripts of each study year
  • Document proving English language level
  • Motivational letter
  • Passport copy

Additional educational documents might be required depending on the country of residence.

Provided documents must be in color, have no cut corners (high quality scan).

By submitting the documents applicant agrees for one’s information to be shared with other institutions that the University might refer to while processing the academic verification.

Applicants might be asked to participate in additional knowledge evaluation.

Up to 30 students, based on their study results and motivation, are admitted for the 2nd study year of studies in France (those who do not, will be able to finish their studies in the specialization “European and International Business Law” – only MRU diploma).

English Language Requirements

Required level – B2

Assessments of English language proficiency certificates equivalent to level B2:

  • TOEFL IBT 65-78
  • IELTS 5.0-6.5
  • DUOLINGO 100-125

If you do not have a certificate proving your English language proficiency level, you can take the University Online English language level test. You will be able to choose this option while filling in the application. The test is free of charge.

Certificate is not required if your native language is English or if your previous studies were conducted fully in English language.

  • If the original educational documents/transcripts are in English, Lithuanian or Russian with an apostille (if required) on the scanned original, no translation needed.
  • If original educational documents/transcripts are not in English, Lithuanian or Russian languages, then they have to be supplemented with an official translation.
  • The official translation has to be confirmed with the sworn translator’s signature or official notarization.
  • Accepted students shall present their original educational documents/transcripts to the International Office upon arrival to begin their studies.

Qualification Recognition

Recognition of Foreign Qualifications

  • The evaluation and recognition of prior qualifications is a part of Mykolas Romeris University (MRU) admissions process.
  • By submitting the online application you confirm that the documents are legitimate and that MRU can verify the authenticity of the documents by contacting its issuing authority and national ENIC/NARIC centre.
  • Documents uploaded must be in good condition and in full colour. Documents issued in languages other than English, Russian, or Lithuanian must be accompanied with an official translation into English or Lithuanian. 
  • Before you apply make sure that you have a complete documentation package and that your qualifications are giving access to higher education according to the study programme level you are applying for at the MRU.  

Recognition Criteria

  • The purpose of an assessment is to compare a foreign qualification with a similar level qualification awarded in Lithuania according to quality, profile, content, workloads and learning outcomes.
  • Your qualification will be assessed according to specific requirements for the programme you are applying for and whether your academic results are sufficient for studies at the MRU.

Right to Appeal

Recognition decisions can be appealed against to the Academic Recognition of Foreign Qualifications Concerning Higher Education Appeal Committee under the Lithuanian Ministry of Education and Science.
